January 16, 2013

Word on the street is that many of you have obligations that will prevent you from coming to class.  What I had planned involved everyone to be here; so, we will just work online this week and meet (for sure!) next Wednesday.  Just a fair warning- you will be taping your final debates for the first debate.

Ok, so here are the tasks for this week:
1- Email your proposal for your L/D debate. After I approve the topic, you may construct your outline and works sited page.  This will be due by next Wednesday.
2- Create your speaking cards.  Please note that this is different from your outline.
3- Next Thursday (January 24), I am checking/ grading your Weebly's for the content I have required thus far.  Refer to previous blog posts to make sure you have it all.  Publish your Weebly and post the link to it below.
4- By January 28 meeting, you will need to have taped the first version of the second debate, uploaded the video to YouTube and posted it on Weebly with your reflection 2x5.  These will be evaluated at that time.  I want to watch your videos during our meeting so that everyone can provide some constructive feedback.  The final version of the second debate is due the following Wednesday posted to you Weebly.
5-  You need to determine a date/ time/ chapter(s) for your next book chat.  Here is the room for chat.  Chat is due by the end of January.

Joey- instead of doing the second debate, you are responsible for created a how-to video for L/D debates.  This will require at least two sources and samples of 'debating'.  You may wish to use your peers' work for this project.  This will be due at the same time their final version of the second debate is due.

Be easy; stop by if you need help.
