I hope you enjoyed your small reprieve, but onwards we go!
Today's Tasks
Overview: We are going to be starting a little project that I think you need to start researching and developing a stance. The topic? Balanced Calendar for our schools.
1- Let's start by laying down the basics: stakeholders, settings, and a list of what we know (to be true).
2- Consider and Discuss: Who stands to benefit the most from a balanced calendar? How does the balanced calendar impact each stakeholder? What is the purpose of a balanced calendar?
3- Plan of Attack: What stakeholder position should we represent? Why? What information are we missing or do we need to get in order to justly represent our stakeholder? Who needs to hear this information? Where do we go to find this information? How do we present this information? (Refer to Plan of Attack handout.)
4- Rally the Troops (or assign roles to tasks. Slightly less exciting, but some things are just not exciting.): What roles/ positions do we need to assign in order to get work completed successfully? What time frame are we thinking? What tasks specifically need to be accomplished?
I am really excited and honored to be working on this project with you, my fearless debate team.
